ADC*E Rising Stars: Art First | 8&9 June, Barcelona

The last course ADC*E is offering this semester of the ADCE Rising Stars program: ART FIRST – Art Direction in Advertising, Editorial and Fashion, 8 & 9 June in Barcelona. As in the other courses, registration will be done in a first come, first serve format. The program will accept up to 30 participants. The price for ADC members is 350€.

About the program

A 2 day seminar designed to delve into Art Direction and to explore the different work processes that an art director is involved in, from advertising to editorial projects and fashion. An opportunity to meet the best and most relevant creatives, and explore with them the role of art direction and its future.
 
The role of art director in the fashion industry. A masterclass with one of the best teams of the moment to learn how to manage creative projects in the world of fashion communication, from concept development to the final execution. The role of art director in the advertising industry. This masterclass will help you to think visually and to learn the art of the layout. An actional talk that will give you helpful insights into the way the industry works. The role of art director in the editorial world; from content, typography and image, everything that goes into designing amazing publications.

 
Facilitator

Paul Belford. Founder of advertising, branding and graphic design agency Paul Belford Ltd Never one to choose the obvious route, Paul gave art school a miss in favour of a PhD in biochemistry. He then, inexplicably, found work as an art director and creative director in some of London’s best ad agencies. He has won hundreds of creative awards for his work in both advertising and design. Paul also has a monthly column in Creative Review magazine. He lectures, teaches and runs workshops all over the world.
 
Jop van Bennekom.
Co-founder of BUTT and Fantastic Man magazines. Art Director at The Gentlewoman Jop van Bennekom is a magazine-maker whose many roles include editor, publisher, art director and designer. Jop first established Re-Magazine as a personal platform when graduating from the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht in 1997. He then launched, with Gert Jonkers, the internationally acclaimed ‘fagazine’ BUTT in 2001, followed by Fantastic Man in 2005. In 2010, Jop and Gert launched, together with editor Penny Martin, The Gentlewoman. Jop also works as consulting art director for numerous fashion brands, and divides his time between London and Amsterdam.
